The Shooting death of “Robert Krentz” has turned into another political opportunity for the anti immigration folks . In Americas Political history you could look back at other such events and see how horrific events are used to push a groups agenda. example, after the death of American citizens on 9/11 it-to was used as an opportunity from people that wanted to close the Mexican border even though the terrorist had entered from Canada. this time around the anti immigrant folks are using a persons death “Robert Krentz” as a new tool. all the while they ignore the main possibility that it could have been a retaliation from drug smugglers.
While investigators don’t have a motive yet, retaliation has been raised as a possibility. The day before the shooting, the victim’s brother, Phil Krentz, reported drug smuggling activity on the ranch to the Border Patrol. (more…)
To understand this “Political Opportunity” theory just look at the people pointing the fingers at immigrants , even before the the dust has settled these people had already made an assumption of guilt. but is anyone surprised that the same people that don’t want immigrants in this country would use the Robert Krentz shooting death as a Political opportunity?

Swing and a miss. First off, virtually no one is anti-immigration. What they are is anti-ILLEGAL immigration. Now are you pro-illegal immigration or are you against it? And when I say if you are against it, do you support measures that would actually stop it? Do you support enforcing the law in theory, or in practice?
Further, illegal immigration and drug smuggling go hand in hand at the border. Drug activity by Mexican drug gangs is one of the main reasons why anti-illegal immigration activist want guard troops (which I oppose) and a fence (which I support).
Yes, there are some nativist elements in the anti-illegal immigrant crowd who are primarily concerned about the decline in the white population. However, there are just as many if not more pro-illegal immigration types who simply want more votes for the Democratic Party. Arizona was a reliably red state and California was a purple state before the large increase in illegal immigration. Now Arizona is a “purple” state and California a “blue” state.
The fact is that illegal immigration makes being a progressive harder. Where legal immigration has virtually no negative effects, illegal immigration has negative effects on health care, public schools, crime and wages for low income workers. While it is great that it results in more victories at the ballot box for Democrats, it comes at a price: making it much more hard to govern.
You folks are going to figure that out one day.

Plenty of non-racists want our immigration laws enforced, including the many Hispanics (and Asians and Africans) who came to this country legally. And plenty of Democrats and independents also want our immigration laws enforced. Claiming that wanting immigration laws enforced is racist … what other laws do you want to go unenforced? If we don’t enforce immigration laws, then why should we enforce the Civil Rights Act or worker safety protections? And what if it were white right wingers from Quebec flooding the northern border, voting for Sarah Palin, and taking white collar jobs and college spots from minority and low income citizens? You would be up there building a border fence yourself, and trying to pass anti-French speaking laws.

I would have understood if they waited tell after the police have all the facts. but no!! they put the drug dealers and the immigrants all in the same boat , as if they cant see a difference.

Gerald you understand that drug dealers are the ones with the guns? they are the ones that have millions of dollars on the line in every shipment that they push into this country. immigrants come to this country to work and the drug dealers are the ones that come-over and bring the drugs and then go back for more.

Ask a border agent how often they find foot prints like those leading away from the site of the murdered farmer…..just perfect showing a path!
